1.
steady and kind, you still live on in my mind with a resolution that’s still clear and I try not to move when you feel near, the body you relieved gave it’s shape while you breathed, you gave us laughter that challenged while it freed, but the silence is so loud that you leave, all this cannot bring you back to me, I feel the wind on my skin where you used to be, please don’t mistake me for a hero, I can barely feel you, you were there until you were not there, so pull down the shades if you end it that way, i can still feel your ghost in the words that I say, I have given it time, but the loss always stays
2.
one step at daybreak, one step into the majesty, past the places I’ve chastened to the forest of the sacred trees, well I broke so many promises, I gave so many empty threats, and I’m coming back weary to the forest that don’t forget, moss underneath my feet, it’s a miracle, soft and so sweet it’s discreet, it can cheer you up, smell of the trees and the ferns, it can heal you, yeah crevice of stone, i’m alone, but you’re near me now, yeah you’re near me now, freedom lives inside this state, no it can’t be bought or stripped away, you loved me till I can’t erase this feeling sacred to this place, moss underneath my feet, it’s a miracle, soft and so sweet it’s discreet, it can cheer you up, smell of the trees and the ferns, it can heal you, yeah crevice of stone, i’m alone, but you’re near me now, yeah you’re near me now, once my feet touch down to the bottom of the steam, all the memories hiding come rushing back to me, let the transmission open, let the corners get clean, lay my body on the stones, forget about me
3.
if you look down, your head will spin around, you take one step and there’s no exiting, chained to the wall, I pace and I crawl until the spring, explain it all, he calls when he calls, no answering, please don’t wake, don’t turn, don’t take away from me, if I can’t make the whole damn place stand up for me, I’ll knock it all down, the whole damn town in front of you, turn it around, I fall like a clown who’s cracked in two, the owl sleeps in the day and never makes a sound, just can’t get away from the screaming sound, you might not wake from this life we dream, they just may win if you go to sleep, we will not crack in two, we won’t be played for fools
4.
we are the people who can get shit done, we are the people who are still having fun, well don’t you need somebody picking up your trashes, I know you need somebody wiping babies’ asses, and don’t you need a friend when your car breaks down, you need a shoulder for your tears when your baby leaves town, and where you gonna run when the civil war comes, you better stuff a little bread underneath of your bed, and how you gonna fly when you clipped your own wings, now who you gonna call to get you out of these things, we are the people who can get shit done, we are the people who are still having fun, it’s all talk till the money goes down, butcher, beg and rob until we sink into the ground, well if you can’t get his voice out of your head, you gotta shake it, shake it, shake it till the voice goes dead, and if there is something you’re trying to find, all of your power is resting inside, and if there is something that stands in your way, you gotta shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it all day, we are the people who can get shit done, we are the people who are still having fun
5.
I get up, I get out, I get on my way, with a trigger in my brain, I’m lost, I’m found, you’re steps away, but I never see your face, ripped out of time and shaved away, you just push until it breaks, secrets we steal no longer pay when the whole house is burning, in the forest I can see you, I can feel you brush on my sleeve, are you fallen, are you feeling, follow you when you follow me, I can see you, I can hear you, bloody tracks don’t just disappear, are you real, yeah are you human, do you dream when you fall asleep
6.
7.
no, do not sit there, don’t think that, don’t look at me with that face, it’s been three years since we started and this house is a disgrace, why don’t you want to go shopping, why will you not leave this place, I cannot figure out puzzles, my brain is a blurry place, no, do not sit there, don’t tighten, don’t think that you understand, these pills and those ones, the new ones, I chose ones to help me stand, we can just feed all the chickens with chicken, I have a plan, stand with your hand just like my hand, then hand me your other hand
8.
you cannot figure how the time has made you incomplete, you cannot wriggle from the line you drew across my feet, you find a cooler breeze while waving from a mountain top, you’re building buildings while you tell me that the building’s stopped, you broke the backs of all the people who had trusted you, not long ago I can remember I looked up to you, you wrote mythology and handed out the books to read, you built the buildings that I found one day surrounding me, building and building and reaching up skyward, building and building and covered with windows, you and me, we build what we see, you and me, we live in the buildings
9.
Flight Path 02:47
let’s build a bridge together, past our deserted house, deep in the woods where no one knows us, let’s clear a path together, follow it through the years, lead with your heart and I will follow, is it too big to see it, why can’t I hold it all, maybe the path just leads to nowhere, let’s fly right out the window, up till we’re in the sky, follow the path into the open, let’s take the sky together, let’s laugh until we cry, follow out path into the open

about

From the studio of veteran Hudson valley drummer and songwriter Michael Wilcock comes Lunar Figurine. Experimental and densely electronic, Lunar Figurine’s debut Cracked in Two divides its time between modernist, pattern-based indie pop and a glitchy, politically volatile electro punk livid with contemporary American rage and despair. The eccentric wobble-pop of “Covered in Windows” makes perfect sense in a world where Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth produces Solange tracks. The ribald and raw “We Are the People,” on the other hand, nods to T-Rex in its anthemic celebration of interdependence and community in the age of one-percenter hyper-capitalism. Unique sound design and unfailing groove meet in fully realized songcraft.
